Levico misses out on promotion to Serie D

Levico Terme have bitterly missed out on promotion to Serie D. After a 2-1 away win in the first leg of the playoff, in which Nicola Dalla Valle scored twice to turn the game around, the Trentino side lost 1-3 at home to Certosa in the second leg.

The visitors from Rome thus avenged their first-leg defeat and celebrated their first-ever promotion to the fourth tier of Italian football. Vendemmia put Certosa on course early, and Toncelli added another late goal. Bellante sealed the victory shortly afterward, and Vesco's late goal came too late for Levico.

Levico finished second in the Oberliga behind Virtus Bozen, but cannot join the Talferstadt team in Serie D. Two South Tyrolean teams, Virtus Bozen and FC Obermais, will be represented there next season.
