Morktplotz, Day 2: Bible comparisons and the Oasis comeback

Group A

On the first matchday, the Morktplotz myth immediately took on biblical proportions. It had something to do with FC Taci. The young team from St. Pauls (consisting of B-youth players) faced opponents who were sometimes three heads taller. Visually, each of their games was a David versus Goliath duel. Initially, the Goliaths had the upper hand, as expected. It wasn't until the match against the Rotzbuam from Ritten that the infamous end came: a 1-0 victory was enough for the youngest team in this year's field to qualify for the finals on Saturday. A story that only the Bible—or, indeed, the Morktplotz—can tell.

Other games in Group A were also cinematic – with the Gauchos, the Viertelkickerz and Hienigor SV, three “Invincibles” advanced to the next round without losing.

Group B

They won the 31st edition, took a break last year, and now they're back on the Morktplotz: Hellas Corona. The Bressanone team did what Oasis did: they staged a perfect comeback. With two wins and a draw, they seamlessly continued the successes of their last outing. Last year's finalists, FC Taki Taki, are also doing like a charm: they remain undefeated. The Merano team is proving that they're a force to be reckoned with at this year's edition as well.
