Still unbeaten: Ahrntal greets from the top

There were some interesting matches on the second match day of the regional league. Bruneck faced Naturns in the top match, while Ahrntal shot its way to the top of the table.

Bruneck has only one goal this season, namely promotion. The Pustertal team has been playing at the top of the regional league for several seasons, but has not yet managed to make the big step into the premier league. The first, early indicator of this will probably be the match against Naturns, which took place on Sunday. Both teams collected three points on the first match day. In the direct duel for the next three points, however, the two league heavyweights butted heads in vain, as neither team managed to get the ball over the line and the match ended in a goalless 0:0.

Ahrntal also wants to play for promotion. Teldra won three more points with a 1-0 victory against Voran Leifers. Andreas Oberhollenzer scored the goal from a penalty. Looking at the table and the results of the other teams, it became clear that Ahrntal remains the only team to have won both of its games so far this season. The result is that they are the sole leader in the table.

In contrast to the other regional league matches on Sunday, in which relatively few goals were scored, Riffian Kuens knew where the opponent's goal was. The team, which saved itself from relegation late last season, collected its first important points with a convincing 3:1 win against Weinstraße Süd.
