St. Georgen experienced a disastrous first half of the season, plagued by defeats, bad luck, and mishaps. The former Serie D club drifted into the relegation zone during the first half of the season. But now, the Jergina have pulled themselves out of their misery. They remain undefeated in their six second-half matches – and secured their third consecutive victory on Sunday.
St. Georgen prevailed 2-1 in a difficult away match against Comano. The finish was extremely eventful. Elia Baratella scored the second goal for the Puster Valley team in the 89th minute, but then things got exciting again. Samir Ajdarovski scored a consolation goal to make it 2-1 shortly before the final whistle, but St. Georgen held on for the three points.

Ahrntal also had reason to celebrate on Sunday, securing a vital 1-0 victory against Benacense. Florian Engl became the hero of the day, scoring the winning goal shortly after halftime following a fine assist from Stefan Pareiner. This three points give Teldra some breathing room in the relegation battle.
Brixen loses big match
Meanwhile, SSV Brixen suffered a heavy defeat. In their relegation battle against Lavis (who were second-to-last before the match), they lost 1-2, meaning the Brixen side has now been overtaken by the Trentino team. For bottom-placed Gröden (who lost 1-3 against Mori), relegation from the Landesliga is looking increasingly likely. The only South Tyrolean duel between Partschins and St. Pauls ended goalless, while Virtus Bozen celebrated a 1-0 victory over Union Trento at the top (goal by Alessandro Bertuolo) and thus march ever closer to Serie D.
