Peter Bacher has been given a very long ban.

Oberliga: Long ban for Stegen's assistant coach

A scandal erupted after the final whistle of the Oberliga match between ASV Stegen and Bozner FC. The Pustertal assistant coach was subsequently suspended for a lengthy period by the sports court.

It's rare for a sports court to impose such a long ban in South Tyrolean amateur football. However, in the case of Peter Bacher, former head coach and current assistant coach to Peter Unterregelsbacher at Stegen, a ban of seven months (!) was imposed.

According to the association's circular, Bacher allegedly grabbed a Bozen FC player by the neck after the final whistle (a 3-2 victory for the regional capital) and hurled racist insults at him. Bacher violated several articles of the sports code (cit.), which earned him this lengthy sentence.

ASV Stegen did not comment on the case on Friday, citing a meeting scheduled for that evening. The club will then comment on the serious allegations against its own coach.
