Obermaiser Winter Kings also celebrate against St. Georgen

The last Oberliga matchday of the calendar year 2024 was played on Sunday afternoon. The top teams Obermais and St. Georgen once again made positive headlines.

The Merano district club, which had already secured the autumn championship title on the previous match day, defeated ASC St. Georgen in the Bruneck school zone with 3:2.

In a thrilling, at times high-class top match, Obermais took a 2-0 lead through Manuel Brusco and Hannes Luther. After the break, Andrea Isufaj was able to reduce the deficit with a header, but a tap-in from Assi Yassir Al Salih definitely put the visitors on the road to victory. A penalty goal from Andrea Carlini could not prevent St. Georgen's sixth defeat of the season.

Partschins finishes off Comano

Obermais therefore continues to lead the table with a seven-point lead over Partschins and Levico. The surprise team from the Lower Vinschgau region swept bottom-placed Comano off the pitch 3-0, taking their eighth win of the season. Levico defeated Rovereto 4-0.

Fourth-placed Virtus Bozen had to settle for a goalless draw in Mori. The struggling Brixen team, who have now gone eight rounds without a win, had nothing to gain in their 0:1 defeat against Anaune, just as bottom-placed Stegen lost 1:3 in Riva.

Bozner FC beats St. Pauls

Bozner FC and Tramin, on the other hand, are heading into the winter break with a win. Bozner beat table neighbours St. Pauls 3-1 thanks to a good second half, while Unterlander – thanks to double goalscorer Stefan Frötscher – kept the upper hand at home against Vipo with a 3-2 win.
