Partschins on the rise: "Never lost their composure"

After an outstanding preseason, SV Partschins had a disappointing first half of this season. However, in 2026, the team from the Lower Vinschgau region returned to their former form in the Oberliga (Upper League). We spoke with the sporting director about this and also about the future.

Partschins have conceded only three goals in their last eleven matches – an outstanding record. "The new signings Younes Jamai, Sandiro Fahrner, and the return of Paolo Basile and Andi Nischler have given us the necessary squad depth and stability," Manuel Werth told the press. SportNewsWhat the sporting director still criticizes is the conversion of chances.

In Partschins, no one ever doubted the coach, which is why they extended Luca Lomi's contract at the end of the first half of the season. "He gives us that touch of professionalism. Moreover, he's certainly one of the best tactically and a real character. Luca never loses his composure, not even in difficult situations. He knows those all too well from his professional career," explained Werth.

Partschins are now aiming to secure their place in the league as quickly as possible. But what is the club's long-term goal? "It has become incredibly difficult to plan beyond a year in amateur football. There are fewer players overall, and the mentality has changed. We want to further establish ourselves in the Oberliga and also make a splash in the cup, which is why our elimination in the quarter-finals in Naturns hurt."
"It has become brutally difficult to plan beyond a year in amateur football." Partschins sports director Manuel Werth

Partschins is determined to continue with the core members of the team, including Michael Aiello, Armin Rungg, Olaf Stark, and Daniel Lanthaler: "We've started talks, and things are looking good with some of them." On Holy Saturday, the Red-Blacks will host league leaders Virtus Bozen. "We're in good form and want to trip them up," Werth concluded.
