Patrizio Morini and Gitschberg Jochtal: Everything from

There's a bombshell in the regional league: Patrizio Morini will no longer be the coach of Gitschberg Jochtal next season. What's behind it?

During the last winter break, Gitschberg Jochtal caused a surprise: The regional league team parted ways with coach Stefan Putzer and hired Patrizio Morini instead. With the cult football coach on the sidelines, Gitschberg Jochtal finished the championship in fourth place.

But after six months, their paths have already diverged again. Gitschberg's club president, Andreas Aschbacher, confirmed this when asked by [source missing]. SportNews. “We have different ideas regarding the new season. For Patrizio, only promotion counts, but we haven't declared that our number one goal. Therefore, we mutually decided to part ways,” said Aschbacher.

Off to Trentino now?

It's still unclear where Morini will go next. The trail leads to Trentino, where Lavis is reportedly vying for the successful coach's services. The Trentino side was relegated from the Oberliga to the Landesliga two weeks ago and is aiming for immediate promotion back to the regional top flight. And what's happening at Gitschberg Jochtal?

The club is opting for an internal solution for the upcoming season. Club stalwart Alfred Peintner and the young, ambitious Benjamin Putzer (previously sporting director) will form the coaching team. This will be completed by athletic trainer Omar Bianchi and goalkeeping coach Stefan Oberhofer.

Some changes to the squad

There's also news on the transfer market. Simon Grassl and Dennis Nagler have returned to SSV Brixen, Nino Bisignani is moving into the sporting management, while Christian Vecchio has ended his playing career. Several new players have joined the team: striker Lautaro Bartoloni is transferring from Freienfeld to Gitschberg Jochtal, as is Alex Leitner (most recently with Ridnaun, previously with Brixen). Nils Achmüller, Kauan Widmann, and Tomas Dunat are all coming from Schabs.
