South Tyrol's U15 team scored points at the regional tournament in Apulia.

On the second matchday of the 2026 regional tournament in Alberobello (Apulia), South Tyrol's select teams suffered several setbacks against Umbria. While the U19 and women's teams narrowly lost, the U17 team secured a draw, and the U15 team earned their first point.

U19: Late goals conceded cause frustration

The CPA Bozen U19 team suffered a heartbreaking 1-2 defeat against Umbria. Adding insult to injury, the decisive goal came in the final second of stoppage time.

After their strong but unlucky performance against Lazio, coach Ambrosi's team initially struggled. The first half was evenly matched and lacked clear-cut chances. Granruaz had the best opportunity, but his shot went wide from a good position. Auer and Trojer also failed to beat the opposing goalkeeper.

After the break, the Red and Whites improved and Granruaz had a great chance to take the lead, but he failed to convert when one-on-one with the goalkeeper. The final stages were then a flurry of activity: after a handball by Bonato, Bordi converted a penalty to give Umbria the lead. In stoppage time, Oberschmied equalized after a fine assist (92nd minute), but practically with the final whistle, Adelfio scored from a set piece to make it 2-1.

This makes qualification significantly more difficult for captain Zeni and his team. Basilicata awaits them in their final group match.

Women: Strong performance goes unrewarded

The women's team from CPA Bozen also suffered a narrow defeat, losing 0-1 against Umbria.

The decisive moment came in the first half: After a corner, Zavalina headed home the only goal of the match. Overall, the first half was uneventful; Bolzano had more possession but created few clear-cut chances.

After the break, coach Silvia Marcolin's team significantly increased the pressure. Bauer tested the opposing goalkeeper several times from distance, while Wolf created danger down the right flank. However, the best chance fell to Niedermair, who first missed a clear opportunity and then, in stoppage time, hit the crossbar.

Despite a committed performance, Bolzano left empty-handed. They will now aim for a more positive finish against Basilicata.

U17: Lead relinquished

The CPA Bozen U17 team drew 1-1 with Umbria. Manuel Obrist's team narrowly missed out on victory.

Goalkeeper Zanotelli was called into action early on, before captain Pirhofer made two brilliant saves. On the other end, Marku missed a great chance, but made amends shortly afterwards: after a rebound, Mina scored in the 21st minute to give his team the lead.

Mina almost added another goal before halftime, but her free kick only hit the post. In the second half, the South Tyroleans defended solidly for a long time before Alunni scored the equalizer ten minutes from time.

In the final stages, Bolzano had to play with ten men after Gasperini received a red card. He will miss the final group match against Basilicata due to suspension.

The U15 team of CPA Bozen secured their first point in the tournament with a 0-0 draw against Umbria.

The only dangerous situation in the first half arose after a free kick from Boncompagni that hit the post. Otherwise, midfield battles dominated the game.

Even after the break, the game remained low on scoring opportunities. Bolzano tried to create danger on the counter-attack, but both Facen and Berger were thwarted by the Umbrian goalkeeper's excellent reactions.

After securing their first point, the team aims to achieve their first victory in the final group match against Basilikata.
