The boys’ U15 team at the Arge Alp tournament.

This is how South Tyrol's U15 teams performed

The U15 teams of the Autonomous Provincial Committee of Bolzano of the FIGC-LND performed very well at the international Arge Alp tournament, which took place from May 30 to June 1 in Chur in Graubünden (Switzerland).

The South Tyrolean girls' team finished an excellent second place. Coached by Denise Ferraris, the girls started with a draw against Vorarlberg, then lost 2-3 in the derby against Trentino (goals from Reifer and Oberparleiter), before defeating the Graubünden team 4-2 with a double strike from Shabbeir and goals from Reifer and Pardeller.

On the second day, they first defeated Tirol 3-0 thanks to goals from Unterthurner, Reifer, and Shabbeir, followed by a 2-0 victory over St. Gallen thanks to goals from Shabbeir and Regensberger. The Red and Whites thus finished second in their six-team group behind Vorarlberg. South Tyrol and Vorarlberg faced each other in the final on Sunday, with the latter prevailing 2-0 despite a strong performance from the Ferraris' protégés.

In the boys' competition, Wolfgang Crepaz's team beat Liechtenstein 5-1 with goals from Giovanelli, Dal Cortivo, Baliva, Lintner and Matzoll, but then lost 1-2 to Ticino (Matzoll scored again).

The following day, a win against Graubünden would have been necessary to qualify for the final as group winners. Instead, they could only manage a 0-0 draw, despite having numerous chances to win. After finishing third in the group, the Bolzano national team faced St. Gallen in the match for fifth place. The South Tyroleans won 5-0 with two goals from Giovanelli and goals from Niederbacher, Tosetto, and Baliva.
