Star guest as lucky dip fairy: These are the cup pairings

Slowly but surely, amateur football is getting back on track. Before the championships begin in a month, the first cup matches are traditionally scheduled. And the draw for this took place on Tuesday morning at the offices of the South Tyrolean regional association.

President Klaus Schuster was honored to welcome a star guest: none other than Eva Schatzer, who played the role of draw fairy in the offices of the South Tyrolean regional association. In recent weeks, the 20-year-old from Vahrn has been part of Italy's national football team, which reached the semifinals of the European Championship in Switzerland. Even though Schatzer didn't play, she gained valuable experience. The midfielder is considered one of the brightest talents in Italian football and was a regular starter for Juventus last season.

On Tuesday, Schatzer drew the pairings for the first round of the cup at the state association's offices. The cup will be held in a new format. While in previous years all teams from the Oberliga to the 3rd Amateurliga could compete, the format has now been changed. The Oberliga teams, Landesliga teams, and 1st Amateurliga clubs will remain among themselves, while the 2nd and 3rd Amateurliga teams will compete for their own cup.
