On the third and final day of group matches, history was made with four victories: Following the successes of the U15, U17, and women's teams, the U19 team sealed the deal with a 4-0 win against Basilicata. Despite this, none of the four teams made it to the quarterfinals, but all left Apulia with their heads held high.
U19
In Alberobello, South Tyrol's U19 team put on a strong first-half performance, taking a 3-0 lead into the break. The Red and Whites put their opponents under early pressure and almost capitalized on two Basilicata errors in their build-up play through Emer and Baldauf. Basilicata also threatened once, but Lama made a fine save.Bolzano took the lead in the 20th minute: Emer broke through on the left and played the ball to Baldauf, whose penalty kick was unstoppable for the goalkeeper – 1-0. Shortly afterward, Emer doubled the lead with a superb long-range lob (23rd minute). In the 29th minute, he headed home a cross from Baldauf to make it 3-0, completing his brace. He was involved in all three goals in less than ten minutes.
The women's team and the U19 team caused a sensation.
Basilicata pressed forward after that, but Lama made several excellent saves. After the break, he shone again with another brilliant save. Emer had a great chance but shot over the bar and was later substituted.
In the 77th minute, Hintner headed home a cross from Kofler to make it 4-0. Although the victory wasn't enough to reach the quarterfinals – which they missed out on due to a heartbreaking last-second defeat the previous day – coach Mauro Ambrosi's team bowed out of the tournament with a resounding win.
After the game, a moment of silence was observed in memory of Andreas Canal, who had coordinated the national teams with great passion for many years and had passed away on December 27th. Coach Ambrosi dedicated the victory to him.
Women
The women's team finished their tournament with a well-deserved victory. After their opening defeat against Lazio and the unfortunate performance against Umbria the previous day – which meant early elimination – Silvia Marcolin's players won convincingly 4-0 against Basilicata in Alberobello.South Tyrol's women's team also won 4-0.
Niedermair opened and closed the game with two goals, while Rieder and Marcher also found the net. Niedermair was unlucky early on, hitting the post, but soon scored to give his team the lead. Rieder then doubled the advantage with a stunning free kick into the top corner. In the second half, substitute Marcher made it 3-0 before Niedermair completed her hat trick, sealing a 4-0 victory.
U17
The U17 team also finished the tournament with a victory. Manuel Obrist's squad won 2-0 against Basilicata, but missed out on qualification. Level on points with Umbria, but with a worse goal difference, the team was eliminated. One moment please - the video is loading
South Tyrol put in a strong performance but failed to capitalize on all their chances. A more decisive victory would have been necessary to advance. Shortly before the final whistle, Marotta hit the crossbar with a free kick. Bolognese opened the scoring in the 32nd minute after a scramble in the penalty area. Mina extended the lead to 2-0 in the second half.
U15
Although the victory wasn't enough to advance, South Tyrol's U15 team could be satisfied. After a clear 0-7 opening defeat against Lazio, the team improved significantly: a 0-0 draw against Umbria was followed by a 1-0 victory against Basilicata.Vanzi scored the decisive goal after a free kick from Gurschler, which the goalkeeper failed to clear adequately. Basilicata posed little threat, while Bolzano had further opportunities. In the end, it was a narrow but deserved 1-0 victory and a satisfying end to the tournament.
