Accidental death shocks South Tyrolean amateur football

The SPG Gsies and with it the entire South Tyrolean amateur football are in mourning: Puster midfielder Jakob Kahn died in a terrible traffic accident at the weekend.

The accident happened on Sunday night: Jakob Kahn was driving out of the valley on the Gsieser Talstrasse in St. Martin around 2.30:20 a.m. when his car left the road and rolled over several times. For him any help came too late. The XNUMX-year-old from St. Magdalena succumbed to his serious injuries at the scene of the accident (stol berichtete).

Kahn was a well-known face in football circles, as he had been chasing the big ball since he was a child. Most recently he was active as a midfielder for his hometown club, SPG Gsies. This season he was used eight times in the 1st Amateur League, mainly as a substitute.

“On Saturday we won 1-0 against Lüsen, Jakob was there,” says coach Felix Schuster Tagblatt Dolomites. He, the other club officials, his teammates and the entire amateur football scene were hit hard by this terrible accident.
