On Wednesday evening, South Tyrolean amateur football continues with the quarter-finals of the regional cup and a catch-up game in the regional league.

Due to the regional tournament in Sicily, which begins this weekend, the Oberliga is on hiatus until April 19. FC Obermais's main goal remains the championship title and the associated promotion to Serie D. With four games remaining, the blue and whites are still 7 points ahead of Partschins and 8 points ahead of Virtus Bozen.

This Wednesday evening, FCO will face a truly prestigious clash at Merano's Combi Stadium. For the first time in 11 years, there will be a genuine Merano city derby. Olimpia Merano won the Provincial Cup last year and will likely miss out on direct promotion to the Provincial League again this year.

In terms of playing ability, Bertinato's team will likely be able to keep up with Obermais. This city derby certainly has plenty of potential, as the relationship between the two clubs isn't always particularly good. Otherwise, Wednesday's clash between Ahrntal and Partschins is in the spotlight. The Lower Vinschgau team is particularly keen on the regional cup this year.

Catch-up game in the regional league

In the regional league, the catch-up match between Latzfons/Verdings and Lana is scheduled for Wednesday, before the second-highest regional league also goes on hiatus until April 19. The home team can catch up with Lana with a win. The visitors, on the other hand, could virtually seal their survival with a win.
