Why is Georg Brugger leaving St. Georgen?

A group from Bruneck has become one of the biggest names in South Tyrolean amateur football: Yes, the story of St. Georgen has something of a fairytale about it. But now the author of the fairytale is leaving the ship: Club chairman Georg Brugger is stepping down.

In South Tyrolean football circles, when people say St. Georgen, they often also mean Georg Brugger. After all, he's the one who made the club what it is today. For 28 years – half his life – the energetic, passionate, and sometimes polarizing boss has led his Jergina as section manager. But now it's over.
