The FCS returns to winning ways against Santarcangelo

In the first meeting with the team from Emilia Romagna, FCS coach William Viali sent his men onto the field in a 3-4-2-1 system. Four kickers from the provinces, Gabriel Brugger, Fabian Tait, captain Hannes Fink and Michael Cia, were in the White-Reds' starting line-up.

In the first half, the spectators in the Drusus Stadium in Bolzano only saw meager football fare from both teams. FC Südtirol got into the game well and found their first opportunity with Tulli (8th), but after the harmless finish from the Sturmtank there was little to see from the Viali team for a long time. Sarzi only caused some danger in the 35th minute, but goalkeeper Nardi effortlessly defused his left-footed shot. Santarcangelo also didn't take part in the offensive at all - apart from a header from striker Cori (15th) and another finish from the attacker (45th), the guests had little to offer.

Gliozzi decides the game Even after the break, the situation initially did not change. As the game went on, the FCS became stronger and came into the opponent's danger zone more and more often. In the 66th minute, the white and red efforts were finally rewarded: After a Cia corner, Bassoli passed it on to Gliozzi, who pushed the ball over the line to make it 1-0 to much acclaim. For the 21-year-old, it was the sixth goal of the season in the current championship.

As a result, FC Südtirol even pushed for a 2-0 lead, but the agile Cia found its match in guest keeper Nardi with two shots. Because Fink and Co. remained flawless on defense, the missed opportunities to make it 2-0 were easily overcome - in the end it remained a narrow 1-0. So the first white-red “threesome” since October 22nd was perfect.

Great relief in the ranks of FC Südtirol: On the 14th matchday of the Lega Pro Championship there was a narrow 1-0 home win against Santarcangelo - with this Fink and Co. celebrated the first “threesome” after three rounds without complete success.
