FC Südtirol: Chasing points with “Fisch” in Spezia

Spezia, who really want to get promoted to Serie B, would like to win the first round. Then everything would be clear for the Ligurians after matchday 34. Four so-called “finals” are now coming up for the FCS. The start of this is the game against Spezia, which kicks off on Sunday at 15.00 p.m. The White-Reds have barely returned from the away game in Liguria when they play a catch-up game against Carrarese on Wednesday, April 25th, and on Sunday, April 29th they will play at home against league leaders Trapani.

“The game calendar has been changed. It might have been better for us to start the final section against Carrarese in the Drusus Stadium. Four important and difficult games await us, with the first three being played within seven days and therefore certainly decisive. We are ready to give everything to make our dream of participating in the play-offs come true,” said attacker Andrea Schenetti before the game against the club from Liguria.

A really rousing, final part of the championship is coming up, with Captain Kiem and his comrades presenting themselves in the best possible shape. Coach Giovanni Stroppa can use his entire squad, with the exception of the long-term injured Luca Franchini, who has played very little all season.

After a three-game break, Manuel Fiwickeler also returns to the team, having scored his fourth goal for the Italian U-20 national team in the victorious friendly against Denmark.

In the central defense, Pietro Cascone, Massimiliano Tagliani and Hannes Kiem are fighting for the two places in the starting eleven. The midfield trio, on the other hand, is likely to consist of Alessandro Furlan, Francesco Uliano and Alessandro Campo, although Michael Bacher, who played a very good game against Latina, cannot be ruled out. But Luca Santonocito is also a force to be reckoned with. In attack everything speaks for Andrea Schenetti, Nicolò Giannetti and Manuel Fischnelller - with the option of Hannes Fink and Thomas Albanese.

Spezia has a number of players with a significant past in Serie B, from Madonna and Buzzegoli, to Testini and Vannucchi, to Marrotta and Iunco. A strong team, but they will have to do without the suspended Bianchi on Sunday. Lucioni is likely to take his place in defence, while the condition of Ferrini, Lolo, Chianese and Papini does not yet allow any conclusions to be drawn about whether they will play. The Ligurians' current top scorer with 13 goals is Evacuo, who has one more goal than Manuel Filehner.

The first leg, which was played on December 4th at the Drusus Stadium, ended with a narrow 1-2 defeat for the FCS.
