FIFA reveals: Club World Cup in 11 US cities

The final venue will be Metlife Stadium in New Jersey, as the world football association FIFA announced at the "Global Citizen Festival" in New York's Central Park. The new tournament from June 15 to July 13 will be held in the USA for the first time with 32 clubs.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino and prominent guests such as Hollywood actor Hugh Jackman and music producer DJ Khaled announced Miami, Los Angeles, Seattle and Washington as other host cities. Orlando will have two stadiums. Tournament matches will also kick off in Atlanta, Nashville, Charlotte, Cincinnati and Philadelphia.

Which teams are participating Inter and Juventus are taking part from Italy. Bayern Munich and Dortmund qualified in the Bundesliga, Manchester City and Chelsea in the Premier League. Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Salzburg are also taking part in the Club World Cup. It is also interesting that top South American clubs such as River Plate, Boca Juniors (both from Argentina), Fluminense (Brazil) and Pachuca (Mexico) are taking part. In a statement, Infantino promised "a new chapter in football history". However, the Club World Cup is not without controversy because the expansion of the tournament will further inflate the already packed game calendar and, above all, the top stars of the industry are facing a summer without a real break. It is also still unclear who will broadcast the games.

The Club World Cup will be drawn in December. FIFA has assured that the schedule for the eight groups of four will be published shortly afterwards. The tournament is also a test run for the 2026 World Cup, which the USA will host together with Mexico and Canada.
