“Fisch” and Fink shoot the FCS to victory

The two FCS homegrown players, Manuel Fiwickeler and Hannes Fink, were responsible for the victory. They breathed life into the slow-looking game of the white-red team and secured the ultimately deserved victory with their goals.

FCS coach Giovanni Stroppa had to do without the injured Franchini, Albanese and Bacher as well as the suspended Grea against Feralpisalò. Nevertheless, the home team took control of the game from the start and tried to push the opponent into their half - but this was only with limited success, as Campo and Co. were rarely able to pose a goal threat despite their field superiority.

The first excitement came from visiting striker Defendi, who called goalkeeper Iacobucci into action. In the 31st minute, Hannes Fink took heart and took a long shot. However, the ball was deflected by Drascek with his hand and so the referee decided on a penalty. Manuel Filehner transformed this in his usual confident manner. Immediately before the half-time whistle, Iacobucci had to outdo himself again when Tarani shot.

Feralpisalò's first action after the restart led to a shocking moment for the FCS: after a corner, Tarani's shot landed in the South Tyrolean goal, but the referee canceled the goal. A little later, Drascek was sent off after a bad foul on Chinellato. This meant that the FCS now also gained numerical superiority in terms of play, which was immediately noticeable: after the Salò defense had difficulties in coordination, Fink used a precise cross to make it 2-0. As a result, the guests pushed forward again, but FC Südtirol didn't let anything go wrong and made it 2-0 safely over time.
