In Salzburg: Everyone is crazy about Ronaldo

Austrian football fans got to see Cristiano Ronaldo for at least half a game on Wednesday.

The Portuguese superstar started his club Al-Nassr's 2-1 friendly victory over FC Toulouse in Grödig (Salzburg) and got on the scoresheet in the 33rd minute with a right-footed shot in the penalty area, leveling the score at 1-1 after Wesley's assist. The 40-year-old, who had been presented with a pair of lederhosen before kickoff, remained in the locker room for halftime.

Starting the game alongside former Bayern Munich player Sadio Mane was Joao Felix. The Portuguese striker had only been signed on Tuesday from English Club World Cup champions Chelsea. Mohammed Khalil Marran emerged as the match-winner (76'). Yann Gboho scored the Toulouse goal (25'). Ronaldo did not play in the previous friendly against St. Johann last Saturday.

The "Ronaldo mania" that has arisen has come to an end, as the Saudi Arabian club has ended its training camp in Saalfelden earlier than planned due to inclement weather conditions. The third friendly match scheduled for August 2nd will therefore no longer take place.
