In South Tyrol: Meeting of Sturm Graz legends

Serie A club Bologna celebrated a long-awaited victory on their final day of training camp in South Tyrol. Meanwhile, a reunion of Sturm Graz legends also took place in South Tyrol.

In Vahrn on Saturday afternoon, two second-division teams faced off: 1. FC Nürnberg (2. Bundesliga/currently training in Gais) against Palermo (Serie B/currently training in Santa Cristina). It was also a highly anticipated clash of the two legendary strikers.

Nuremberg is managed by Miroslav Klose, Palermo by Filippo Inzaghi. Both are considered among the best goalscorers of all time. In a friendly match, the two clubs drew 2-2. Ali Zoma shone for Nuremberg with a brace, while Joel Pohjanpalo and Jacopo Segre came back from a 0-2 deficit for Palermo.

Bologna's first victory in South Tyrol

For Serie A club Bologna, their South Tyrol training camp – at least in terms of the results of their friendlies – has been anything but auspicious so far. Domenico Tedesco's team, who were staying and training in Vals, suffered a 0-4 thrashing against German second-division side Arminia Bielefeld, and also failed to secure a victory, drawing 1-1 against Heidenheim (2. Bundesliga). But now Bologna finally had something to celebrate.

The Serie A club won 2-0 against Greek side Iraklis Thessaloniki on Saturday afternoon. In front of nearly 2.000 spectators, Thijs Dallinga (7th minute) and Jonathan Rowe (58th minute) secured a positive end to their training camp. The team returned to Bologna that evening.
