Max Reinthaler will probably return to his old job.

1860 Munich with a fresh start: Reinthaler could stay

The traditional 1860 Munich – as it was known – is history. After bankruptcy, the club is reorganizing in the amateur sector. A familiar face from South Tyrol could remain.

In an interview with SportNews in concrete Max Reinthaler said a few weeks ago how much the club meant to him However, after 1860 Munich's bankruptcy and subsequent exit from professional football, much remained uncertain. This included the future of Reinthaler himself, who, following the bankruptcy, was allowed to transfer as a free agent.

Now, a return of the 31-year-old from Algund to the Lions seems imminent. 1860 Munich has re-established itself after being relegated from the 3rd division and will play in the Regionalliga (4th division) in the future. However, because the Lions' trademark rights remain with the previous investor, Hasan Ismaik, until 2031, the "new" club is not even allowed to print the club crest on its jerseys. 1860 Munich has therefore reverted to an older version of the logo.

However, there have been some developments regarding squad planning. Star player Florian Niederlechner has decided to remain loyal to the club. A return for Reinthaler also appears imminent, according to media reports from sources close to the club. The South Tyrolean has made 58 appearances (five goals) for 1860 Munich so far, and more are expected to follow soon.
