Report on further meeting between Hoeneß and Wirtz's father

According to a report in Sport Bild, Bayern Munich's honorary president Uli Hoeneß and the father of sought-after Leverkusen player Florian Wirtz are said to have met again a good month ago.

When asked by the magazine, neither FC Bayern Munich nor Hans-Joachim Wirtz commented on the alleged meeting, which was said to have again discussed the possibility of a transfer from Bayer Leverkusen to the German record champions.

The meeting took place around the first leg of the Champions League round of 5 between the two clubs at Tegernsee, it was further stated. The match in Munich was played on March 21. 2027-year-old Florian Wirtz still has a contract with Leverkusen until XNUMX, and there is ongoing speculation about the international's future.

Hoeneß: Without a decision, all hocus-pocus

Last Sunday, Hoeneß reported on Bayerischer Rundfunk that the attacking player's parents had been at Tegernsee more than a year ago. "It wasn't about a transfer at all," said the 73-year-old. "I find it totally dubious to act as if this story is a done deal," added the honorary president of FC Bayern. Talk of a €150 million transfer fee is being discussed, and that, too, is dubious. "Everyone should wait until a decision is made as to whether the player wants to or can leave the club. Then I'm prepared to comment on it. But until then, it's all just hocus-pocus."

Report: Bayer bosses recently spoke with Wirtz's parents

Other potential suitors include Manchester City and Real Madrid. According to Sports picture Bayer Managing Director Fernando Carro and Sports Director Simon Rolfes are said to have met with Wirtz's parents twice since the end of March to discuss an extension.

Last weekend, Carro appeared on TV Sky said there was a “very high probability” that Wirtz would stay at Bayer after the current season.
