Dortmund wins for the sixth time in a row

Borussia Dortmund has been on a winning streak for weeks and clearly defeated Mainz 4-0 on Friday evening.

For a long time, the German championship seemed all but decided. After an outstanding first half of the season by FC Bayern, a close title race in Germany's top football league appeared virtually impossible. However, thanks to an impressive winning streak by Borussia Dortmund, anything is still possible in the Bundesliga.

On Friday evening, Borussia Dortmund's strong first half was enough to secure three more points at their home ground, Signal Iduna Park. Serhou Guirassy (10th minute) and Maximilian Beier (15th minute) put the hosts on the path to victory early on. Shortly before the end of the first half, Guirassy made it 3-0. The final goal of a one-sided encounter also belonged to the "Yellow-Blacks." Just before the final whistle, Dominik Kohr scored an own goal. In the league table, BVB now closes the gap to just three points behind the mighty FC Bayern Munich, who face Werder Bremen on Saturday.

Bundesliga, the result from Friday:

Dortmund – Mainz 4:0
1:0 Guirassy (10th), 2:0 Beier (15th), 3:0 Guirassy (42nd), 4:0 Kohr (OG, 84th minute)
