A lackluster city derby in Hamburg

FC St. Pauli and Hamburger SV played to a goalless draw in a lackluster city derby.

The opening match of the 19th matchday in the Bundesliga saw both teams play to a meager 0-0 draw at the Millerntor Stadium. Both sides struggled offensively and created few chances.

St. Pauli climbed from 18th to 16th place, at least temporarily, thanks to the draw and their first point of 2026, and now have 13 points. However, the Kiez-Kicker missed out on the much-needed breakthrough.

HSV has five more points than their city rivals and occupies 13th place. However, the draw didn't allow the Red Shorts to decisively distance themselves from St. Pauli in the standings.
