Lackluster Borussia Dortmund secures important victory
Minimalism gets Borussia Dortmund back on track: Five days after their cup exit, they are at least back on course in the Bundesliga.

With a 2-0 victory in a disappointing top-of-the-table clash against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, Borussia Dortmund remain hot on the heels of second-placed RB Leipzig. Goals from Julian Brandt (43rd minute) and Nico Schlotterbeck (60th) ensured that Niko Kovac's team remained unbeaten in their tenth consecutive Bundesliga home game.
For the surprisingly successful visitors this season, it was their first away defeat. Coach Christian Ilzer's team thus missed the chance to move into a Champions League spot. Dortmund remains third in the table with 28 points, behind Bayern Munich (37) and Leipzig (29).
