In stoppage time: Bayer Leverkusen defeats Leipzig

Leaders Leverkusen struggled against Leipzig for a long time and were only relieved late. Borussia Dortmund, on the other hand, didn't have much trouble against a relegation candidate.

The Bayer code cannot be cracked: Despite being behind and suffering a bitter injury, league leaders Leverkusen have extended their unbeaten streak in the Bundesliga to 18 games. The autumn champions fought their way to a 3-2 (0-1) win at RB Leipzig in the top duel on Saturday evening and, like the previous week, scored the winning goal in stoppage time.

Xavi Simons (8th minute) gave the Saxons an early lead, Nathan Tella (47th) rewarded Bayer's effort with the equalizer in front of 46 fans. Jonathan Tah (529') equalized the renewed RB lead by Lois Openda (56'), before Piero Hincapie (63'+90) made the decision. The leaders are seven points ahead of their pursuer Bayer Munich, who have played two fewer games.

BVB confidently

A week after the 3-0 win at Darmstadt 98, Dortmund also defeated the next relegation candidate. Donyell Malen (12th/61st minute), Niclas Füllkrug (58th, penalty kick) and Youssoufa Moukoko (90th + 2) secured the Westphalians a deserved, but too high, victory. Despite personnel concerns in defense, the runner-up again remained without conceding a goal; after the failures of Mats Hummels and Emre Can, Niklas Süle was unable to continue playing after the first half due to injury.
