Within Germany: Simon Straudi close to a transfer

Just over a month ago, Simon Straudi was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga with Energie Cottbus. But now the Puster Valley full-back is facing another transfer.

Straudi only joined Cottbus in the fall of 2025 and promptly helped the Lausitz club achieve promotion from the third to the second division. The 27-year-old particularly impressed with strong performances towards the end of the season. In total, Straudi made 20 appearances. He and Cottbus have not yet been able to agree on an extension to his expiring contract.

According to multiple media reports, Straudi is on the verge of joining Dynamo Dresden. The club, which finished eleventh in the recently concluded second division season, is looking for a new right-back and has reportedly found his man in Straudi. His move to the traditional East German club, known for its passionate fan culture, could be officially announced in the coming days.
