Crisis instead of euphoria: Wagner is on a downward trend with Augsburg
Analyzing the defeat against the bottom team, who had not yet scored a point, was much more difficult for Sandro Wagner than usual. But Wagner must deal with the crisis.

With the next defeat and the shockingly weak performance, the new Bundesliga coach and his FCA have slipped even deeper into the negative spiral.
Four consecutive defeats after five matchdays – this record raises questions about how much concern there is for FC Augsburg, rather than prompting Wagner euphoria. The pressure is mounting ahead of Saturday's match against VfL Wolfsburg. "With a performance like that, you won't win any of the next 30 games," complained defender Keven Schlotterbeck on Sky.
There isn't a major debate surrounding the 37-year-old Wagner yet. He feels the club's trust, the former assistant to national coach Julian Nagelsmann emphasized. "But that's not what I'm concerned about. I'm simply keen to be a football coach and keen to be the FCA coach. Everything else will hopefully translate into points in the coming weeks."
Wagner “1000 percent” convinced of his players
His team's disappointing performance left him anything but enthusiastic about football. Wagner attempted to explain that his team had probably taken on too much and therefore appeared "somewhat inhibited." "Mainz gave us a bit of a setback," the former striker admitted. After the heavy 1-4 defeat against Mainz, Augsburg had hoped for a turnaround at a previously pointless 1. FC Heidenheim. With their basic virtues and simple football, Wagner's team was hoping to find their composure again – and win. But the visitors were far too inoffensive and lacking in ideas in attack, and too prone to errors in defense. Heidenheim seemed more aggressive. Given their third-to-last place in the table, there's no question of a sense of optimism. Wagner has no doubts about his players. Overall, he's "1000 percent" confident in his players. "We have a great team."
