Leverkusen already agreed on Alonso's successor?
In the event of coach Xabi Alonso's premature departure, Bayer Leverkusen is close to reaching an agreement with Erik ten Hag as his successor, according to Kicker. Talks with the 55-year-old Dutchman are well advanced, the report stated.

As in previous years, the Bundesliga football club is interested in organizing the smoothest possible transition in the coaching position.
Several media outlets had previously reported on the interest in the former Ajax and Manchester United coach. Speculation about Alonso's move to Real Madrid has been rife for months. Carlo Ancelotti is on the verge of leaving Real Madrid. Alonso has an agreement with Bayer to release him if an offer is made from a club for which he previously played professionally.
Fàbregas as another option?
Another candidate for the job in Leverkusen was the former Spanish international Cesc Fàbregas. However, a report that Bayer had held a lengthy discussion with the Como 1907 coach was described by his agent as "incorrect." Fàbregas insisted in Corriere dello Sport, Como has priority in deciding his future.The 37-year-old Fàbregas still has a contract with Como until 2028. He said he wants to take a break after the season with the newly promoted team in Serie A to catch his breath and only then decide on his next steps.
