"Simply not enough": Leverkusen completely satisfied
Robert Andrich has offered clear self-criticism after Bayer Leverkusen's defeat in the million-euro game against VfB Stuttgart.

“If we’re being completely honest with ourselves, it’s simply not enough for the Champions League this year,” said the captain after the 1-3 defeat against the Swabians on the penultimate matchday of the Bundesliga.
Of course, he wasn't ruling out the now highly unlikely Champions League qualification, Andrich said. But: "I'm the kind of guy who tries to assess performances honestly." Everyone at the club had to admit "that we simply weren't good enough for certain things," Andrich said. The match in Stuttgart was emblematic of the entire season.
Champions League dream almost over
It was "brutally disappointing" that VfB Stuttgart had been so much better. The defeat dropped Leverkusen to sixth place in the table. They trail Stuttgart and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim by three points each before the final matchday. "I think we have a lot of personalities who tend to keep things to themselves," Andrich complained. Especially in difficult situations, there are too few players who step up. Perhaps he was being too negative so soon after the match, the 31-year-old added. But changes will definitely have to be made during the summer break.Bundesliga: Matchday 33

Rolfes and Carro are responsible for the chaos in Leverkusen. Eight players who had won the double were sold, along with a coach who had also won the double. For the past two years, only inexperienced and older, injury-prone players have been signed. Players signed for over €30 million have hardly ever played. Coaches were hired who were fired after just two matchdays, or who had previously worked in the Bundesliga without success. Such management errors are unprecedented in Bundesliga history. It borders on total failure on the supervisory board of this club. Rolfes and Carro should have been fired long ago. Instead of consolidating their position behind Bayern Munich, Leverkusen has been overtaken by five other clubs. A complete management failure. I can only advise every player to leave this club as soon as possible. It's unbelievable how quickly things are going downhill for Loser Leverkusen.
