Joking Kehl confirms fine for Adeyemi

Borussia Dortmund's sporting director Sebastian Kehl has now officially confirmed the fine for national football player Karim Adeyemi.

Kehl casually remarked that the striker had immediately accepted the punishment following his outburst during the 2-0 win against Borussia Mönchengladbach just over two weeks ago. "He didn't even try to negotiate," Kehl said at BVB's training camp in Marbella.

Kehl declined to elaborate on the exact amount of the sum, but it is said to be in the high five-figure range. Adeyemi had been substituted early by coach Niko Kovac against Gladbach after a poor performance and when he was at serious risk of receiving a red card. Kehl had prevented the 23-year-old from fleeing to the dressing room.

Kehl: "The matter is settled"

“We had the conversation, it went very well,” Kehl said of the discussion, which, due to everyone’s vacation immediately after the Gladbach game, only took place in the training camp: “The matter is settled.”
