Sensation in the Bavarian derby: Augsburg wins in Munich
A sensation in the duel between the record champions and a relegation candidate: FC Bayern suffered their first defeat in this Bundesliga season on Saturday – against FC Augsburg.

The defending champions were defeated 1:2 at home by Augsburg, thus leaving the pitch as losers for the first time since March 8, 2025 and 27 championship games.
Bayern struggled from the outset against Augsburg's deep-lying defense, before a set piece finally broke the deadlock. Following a corner from Michael Olise, Hiroki Ito headed home (23'). The home side continued to dominate possession, but remained largely harmless in attack. Augsburg, on the other hand, were unlucky just before halftime when Robin Fellhauer's shot struck the crossbar. In the second half, Arthur Chaves (75') and Han-Noah Massengo (81') delivered the major upset.

However, Hoffenheim (3:1 in Frankfurt), Leipzig (3:0 in Heidenheim) and Leverkusen (1:0 against Bremen) all secured victories.
