“Things can’t go on like this at FC Bayern”

Regardless of the outcome of the title fight in the Bundesliga, Lothar Matthäus believes changes at FC Bayern Munich are urgently needed.

“Things can’t go on like this at FC Bayern! There must now be a tough analysis and a ruthless review with consequences, on and off the pitch. Regardless of names or positions,” said the record national player Bild-Zeitung.

Matthäus' former club from Munich goes into the last matchday of the season next Saturday two points behind Borussia Dortmund. “Overall, far too many mistakes were made,” said the 62-year-old. Both in club management and in sport. “Not just this season, it started last season,” said Matthäus, citing the squad composition as an example: “Names were signed, but the question is, are they really Bayern players, Mia-san-Mia -Player? I didn’t see any more Mia-san-Mia in the second half against Leipzig.”
