Chelsea paid €70 million for Brazil striker

Chelsea has signed another attacking star, Joao Pedro, and given him a long-term contract.

The 23-year-old Brazilian joins from English Premier League rivals Brighton & Hove Albion for a reported £60 million (€70 million). He scored ten league goals there last season. The three-time Brazilian international striker signed an eight-year contract until 2033, according to a club statement on Wednesday.

Joao Pedro completed his medical in the USA. According to the report, he could make his debut for Chelsea as early as Friday (3.00:1,5 a.m. CEST) in Philadelphia against Palmeiras in the quarterfinals of the Club World Cup. Since being taken over by a consortium led by US billionaire Todd Boehly just over three years ago, the Conference League winner has already spent more than €XNUMX billion on new players – primarily in attack.
