Guardiola after derby defeat: “I’m not good enough”

Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola has reacted with fierce self-criticism to the setback in the derby against Manchester United.

"I'm the boss, I'm the manager and I'm not good enough," said the coach of the struggling English champions after the 1-2 defeat with two late goals.

Guardiola, who led the club to six league titles and one Champions League win, is currently experiencing the worst phase of his career as a top coach. For City, it was their eighth defeat in eleven consecutive games across all competitions, although they have only won one game.

The defeat in the prestigious city duel means Manchester is in fifth place, nine points behind league leaders Liverpool FC, who still have one game left. "I knew it would be a tough season," said the Spaniard. "But I didn't expect it to be as tough as it is now."
