Fire drama in Switzerland: Football professional seriously injured

Among those injured in the fire disaster in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, is a junior player from the French first division football club FC Metz.

According to the club, 19-year-old Tahirys Dos Santos was airlifted to Germany with severe burns, where he is currently receiving treatment. Media reports indicate that Dos Santos spent a few days of vacation with friends in the mountains, including an overnight stay in a mountain hut. He was scheduled to return to training in Metz on Friday.

On New Year's Eve, a fire at a bar with hundreds of mostly young revelers killed approximately 40 people and injured 115 others. Around 80 of them are reportedly in critical condition. Investigators say they are treating the incident as an accident, not an attack.
