In front of 10.000 fans: Lechl wins the cup with Innsbruck

Even some professional clubs can only dream of such spectator numbers. On Whit Monday, the two Kerschbaumer Cup finalists, Wacker Innsbruck and WSG Wattens II, faced each other in front of 10.288 spectators at the Tivoli stadium in Innsbruck.

A huge crowd attended the cup final in Innsbruck, where Wacker Innsbruck faced the reserve team of Bundesliga club WSG Tirol. Both clubs play in the Regionalliga West (third division), with Wacker Innsbruck already having secured promotion to the professional second division.

Adrian Lechl from Lüsen was right in the thick of things. The former FCS youth player scored the opening goal from the penalty spot. Innsbruck then added two more goals through Florian Kopp and Rami Tekir. In the end, Innsbruck secured the double with a 3-1 victory and had double the reason to celebrate, as Wacker's women's football team also won the cup title.

Many celebrities in the stands

The electrifying atmosphere of the final derby was evident from a glance at the stands, which included ski star Hannes Reichelt, world-class coach Ralph Hasenhüttl, and Austrian EU Commissioner Magnus Brunner.
