Hansi Flick's team paraded through the streets of the Catalan capital on an open-top bus. The Catalans had secured the league title on Sunday, three matchdays before the end of the season, with a 2-0 victory in El Clásico against Real Madrid.
"I'm fine, thank you," Flick reportedly called out to the crowd in response to questions from fans and journalists. His father had died in Germany just hours before the match against arch-rivals Real Madrid. Flick smiled and made a fist with his left hand. "You deserve to enjoy this moment, Hansi!" the club wrote on the news platform. XMeanwhile, the stars, including Lamine Yamal, Pedri, Raphinha & Co., sang and danced exuberantly, waved to the crowd and filmed with their mobile phones amidst the cheers of tens of thousands lining the streets.
Two Poles with pizza at the center
Besides Flick, Robert Lewandowski and Wojciech Szczesny were clearly the focus of the party. The two Poles sat right at the front, joked around, waved a large Catalan flag, and enjoyed treats like ice cream and pizza that fans had thrown to them. The bus departed from Camp Nou around 5:30 p.m. The route passed many of Barcelona's most famous landmarks. Countless fans had gathered along the route hours before the parade began. The festivities brought traffic to a standstill at times in the early evening. The bus was not expected to return to the stadium until late that night, after approximately four to five hours.
