The football world is also mourning Anna Seebacher.

Following the death of Anna Seebacher Breitenberger, grief and condolences are widespread in South Tyrol's sports community. The 29-year-old was a passionate football player for the women's team of AFC Ulten.

"On Friday evening, you were still fighting on the field alongside your teammates from the Ultner women's team. Now it is we who are fighting. With our emotions. With the shock that paralyzes us. With the inaction of having to accept something that is incomprehensible to all of us: that you are no longer here," the club wrote on social media.

The tragic accident occurred around 3 a.m. on Sunday morning above Kuppelwies near St. Moritz in the Ultental valley. The car, in which Seebacher, her husband Julian, and a 17-year-old were traveling, left the road for reasons still unknown and plunged approximately 200 meters down a slope.

AFC Ulten with moving words

Seebacher's husband and the 17-year-old were able to free themselves from the vehicle, but for the 29-year-old, all help came too late. She succumbed to her severe injuries at the scene of the accident.

"With your ambition, but above all with your kind, loving nature and your radiant smile, you were a charming part of the women's team," AFC Ulten commemorates the victim. "Our thoughts are with your loved ones, who have been dealt such a heavy blow by your far too early death. We wish your family much strength and hope in these difficult hours as they cope with their grief. Safe travels, dear Anna. You will forever remain a part of us."
