CL qualification: Pfattner and Austria must go to Paris

The third qualifying round of the Champions League was drawn on Sunday. Austria Vienna was represented in one of the two pots in the draw in Nyon. The Violets, led by new signing Elisa Pfattner, are now just one step away from the league phase of the most important cup competition in European women's football. Austria Vienna's final qualifying challenge takes them to France: Paris FC, the Austrian capital club's third-place finisher from last season's Premier League. The first leg will take place on September 11 in Paris, followed one week later by the return leg at the Franz Horr Stadium in Vienna.

Austria Vienna qualified for the third qualifying round just last Saturday. Against FC Minsk from Belarus achieved a confident 3-0 home victory Pfattner, in particular, made a name for herself. “In international football, we do not yet have the experience to know how good our opponents are,” Pfattner said on Saturday in an interview with the club’s own media Viola TV But Vienna hasn't let that stop them so far. "We did what was on our schedule and executed it brilliantly." Pfattner and his team aim to make another statement in the showdown against Paris.
