South Tyrolean footballer takes the next step

Ranja Fischer impressed during the past Serie C season with FCS Women. Now the striker is taking the next step in her career.

With 20 goals this season, Fischer has attracted attention. Now she has moved to Serie B and will be playing for Cesena. Fischer has been linked with a transfer to a higher league for several years, and this year the Tramin native is finally taking the plunge.

"Ranja Fischer has a strong physique. One of her greatest strengths is her tactical flexibility: although she feels most comfortable in the central striker position, she can also be used as a winger in a three-player attack," said Cesena's club website.
