Atalanta beats Juventus and advances to the semi-finals

In a surprisingly one-sided Coppa Italia quarter-final match, Atalanta clearly defeated Juventus on Thursday evening and thus qualified for the semi-finals.

In the semi-finals, the team from Bergamo, who won 3-0, will now face either Lazio or Bologna. Atalanta dominated the match at the New Balance Arena from the outset and took an early lead: In the 27th minute, Gianluca Scamacca converted a penalty to make it 1-0 after Juventus defender Bremer handled the ball in the penalty area.

Kamaldeen Sulemana effectively sealed the victory in the 77th minute, making it 2-0 on a counter-attack. Mario Pasalic then added a third goal late in the game with a well-placed, low shot to make it 3-0. Despite creating several good chances, Luciano Spalletti's team failed to find the net. Francisco Conceicao even hit the crossbar on a counter-attack.

Coppa Italia, quarter-finals:

Atalanta – Juventus 3-0
Goals: 1-0 penalty Scamacca (27th), 2-0 Sulemana (77th), 3-0 Pasalic (85th)
