Draw in the Milan derby: Now comes the showdown

The semifinals of the Coppa Italia hold a very special treat: Milan and Inter face off. The first leg saw the two Milanese clubs draw.

Milan versus Inter – this duel is electrifying not only Milan, but all of Italian football. On Wednesday, the two world-class clubs faced off in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semifinal – and ended in a 1-1 draw. This guarantees excitement for the big showdown on April 23: the return leg at the San Siro Stadium.

In front of nearly 70.000 fans, Milan—the hosts in this match—took the lead through Tammy Abraham. The English striker struck like a true striker right after the break, but Hakan Calhanoglu equalized for Inter with a powerful shot in the 67th minute.

Return match in three weeks

This means that everything is still open for the return match in three weeks – unlike in the second semi-final. Bologna celebrated a 3-0 victory there on Tuesday over Empoli and already has one foot in the final.
