The hero also became Simon Harrasser. Last year, the 19-year-old, who trained at FC Südtirol, was mostly on the bench for Sorrento. He delivered a strong performance throughout the 90 minutes of the Serie C Cup against Salernitana (1-1 draw). In the penalty shootout, the goalkeeper saved one shot and one hit the post, allowing Sorrento to surprisingly advance against the former Serie A team.

Jonas Heinz (Casertana) was suspended for the Serie C Cup due to a yellow card. Elion Toci (Dolomiti Bellunesi) scored with a header to make it 1-1 at Union Brescia, but in the end the home side won 2-1. Michele Marano (Torres), Jonas Tschöll (Lecco) and Benedikt Rottensteiner (Bra) everyone sat on the bench while Luke Sinn was substituted on for half an hour in Ospitaletto's 1-0 win at Lecco.

The foreign country Luke Mazagg secured a starting spot at Ulm in the third German Bundesliga at the start of the season. The Glurns native also played a key role in the defense in the DFB Cup against second-division Elversberg. However, the Swabians lost 0-1. Max Reinthaler and 1860 Munich, however, did not qualify for the DFB Cup.

In the Austrian second division, Austria Salzburg won its first match of the season at the third attempt. The newly promoted team from the city of Mozart beat Rapid Vienna's reserves 4-2. Matthias Theiner played for Salzburg from the start.
