Labor victory in Bologna: Inter with one hand on the title

The league in Serie A seems to have been decided at the beginning of March. League leaders Inter also won against Bologna on Saturday and are now 18 points ahead of their pursuers.

Inter have not lost a competitive game since December 20th last year (1-2 against Bologna in the Coppa Italia), the last draw was against Genoa on December 29th. Since then, the Nerazzuri have outperformed every competitor and already have an almost unassailable lead (57 points) in the table over their first pursuers Juventus (18 points). Winning the Scudetto for Simone Inzaghi and Co. seems to be just a formality. On Saturday evening, the fashion city residents overcame the next hurdle in their success. They defeated the high-flyers from Bologna 1-0.

Not surprisingly, some of Inter's stars were missing from the encounter, as Inzaghi was already planning for the Champions League second leg (1-0 in the first leg) against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday. Among others, Lautaro Martinez and Federico Dimarco took a seat on the bench. This absence of important personnel was definitely evident on the pitch, as the home team dictated the game for long stretches. The sensational team from Bologna, which is currently on course for the Champions League, had more possession of the ball and had more shots on goal.

But here the efficiency and experience of the league favorite was evident. In the 37th minute, Alessando Bastoni hit a soft cross into the home team's penalty area, which Yann Bisseck impressively headed into the top right corner to make it 1-0. Inter defended this lead until the end and repeatedly put a stop to the attacks of the pressing and trying Rossoblu. Defense chief Francesco Acerbi and Co. skilfully maintained the lead over time and kept the league leaders' winning streak alive.
