Atalanta like clockwork, Roma doesn’t move

Roma is not getting going under new coach Claudio Ranieri either. The capital city team lost to Atalanta at the end of the 14th matchday of Serie A.

The Bergamasco celebrated their eighth win in a row with their 2-0 victory and are now just one point behind leaders Napoli in the table. Inter are three points behind. However, the Nerazzurri have played one game less, as their match against Fiorentina was abandoned due to Edoardo Bove's medical emergency.

At the Olympic Stadium, Gianpiero Gasperini's team took the lead in the 69th minute thanks to a deflected shot from Marten De Roon. The guests, who dominated the game, finally put the lid on it in the 89th minute thanks to substitute Nicolò Zaniolo. Roma have now been waiting for a win in Serie A for over a month. They are only two points ahead of the relegation places.
