According to Sky and Italian media reports, the striker could be loaned from Premier League club Newcastle United to Juventus. Negotiations are reportedly underway between the two clubs. Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio says a loan fee of five million euros is being discussed.
Woltemade, who was also being courted by Bayern Munich at the time, moved from VfB Stuttgart to Newcastle last summer for a transfer fee of €75 million and is under contract there until 2031. After a promising start in the Premier League, the 24-year-old was used less and less by then-manager Eddie Howe last season. Even under the new coach, Matthias Jaissle, the 1,98-meter-tall striker has only played 19 minutes in the first two league matches.
Following the cruciate ligament tear suffered by new signing Giannis Konstantelias at Borussia Dortmund, there is speculation that BVB might also be interested in a loan. However, the Bundesliga club has not confirmed this. "We will see what is ultimately possible. We have several options, several alternatives. But everything has to be the right fit," said coach Niko Kovac regarding a possible replacement for the Greek player.
