A Scotsman freaks out the whole of Naples

Napoli dreams of another title! With four rounds to go, the 2023 champions have taken control of Serie A – partly because Inter suffered another bitter defeat.

Inter is now lagging behind

The 28-year-old Scot, who only moved to the Gulf of Naples from Manchester United in the summer, scored a brace from close range in the 7th and 41st minutes. These were the midfielder's tenth and eleventh goals of the season.

Napoli now has a three-point lead over Inter with four rounds remaining. Should both rivals be level on points at the end of the regular season, a Scudetto playoff would ensue.

Miles away from the title this year is JuventusHowever, the Turin team climbed with a comfortable 2-0 win at home against relegated Monza for a Champions League spot. However, Bologna could snatch it back on Monday (against Udinese). Kolo Muani and Nico Gonzales scored for La Vecchia Signora, who had Kenan Yildiz sent off in the first half for violent conduct.

Milan celebrated on Sunday in Venice also a 2-0 victory, Fiorentina won the Tuscany duel against Empoli with 2:1. As an celebrated the 1-0 win against Genoa to stay in the league, while Atalanta in the 1:1 against Lecce missed important points in the fight for Europe.

The match in Bergamo was overshadowed by the threatened boycott of the match by Lecce and a protest by Atalanta fans, including the suspension of the match. Lecce's physiotherapist Graziano Fiorita died suddenly on Thursday during the away trip, the match was moved from Friday to Sunday – and thus played before the coach's funeral. This resulted in fierce criticism.
