Pisa, along with Hellas Verona, were relegated from Serie A on Friday evening. The newly promoted Tuscan side suffered a decisive 1-2 defeat against Lecce, thus confirming their early relegation.

All the goals at the Arena Garibaldi came after the break: Banda initially put Lecce in the lead, Leris equalized, before Cheddira sealed the victory for the visitors with his first goal of the season.

Verona is relegated again after 7 years

Lecce thus extends their lead over third-to-last place to four points – although their rivals still have to play.
